Verified ID

One ID check, done once, that other collectors can see.

Verifying your identity is optional. Pay for one check, and if it passes, your account carries a checkmark other collectors can see.

What the checkmark means

One thing: Quest verified that collector’s identity document against a live image of them. Nothing further.

It is not an endorsement, it is not a view on how someone deals or on whether their cards are what they say they are, and it cannot tell you who is holding that person’s phone today.

Quest never holds your document

The check is run by Stripe Identity. Stripe captures the document and the live image, matches one against the other, and keeps them.

Quest’s own systems store no image of your identity document, no document number and none of the dates on it — only whether a check passed and when, how many attempts were made, which country issued the document, and what kind of document it was.

What other collectors see

The checkmark and nothing behind it. Not your name as it appears on a document, not the document, not the country, and not whether you ever tried and failed.

A check can fail for ordinary reasons — poor light, an expired document — and a failure is not an accusation.

Where it counts

To give or get a vouch, both people need a verified ID. To publish a post on the Trade Table, you verify your identity first. See Act.
